Cha Cha is an outgrowth of the mambo, and the dance originated in Cuba in the 1950s. It is one of the most popular of the Latin dances. Cha Cha is a fun, lively, flirtatious, dance with an infectious rhythm that is both slow and staccato. The rhythm encourages dancers to interject their feelings into the dance and let their personality show. Prior dance experience is not a requirement to join this class. A willingness to learn and the ability to have fun are the only requirements. Wearing shoes with flat soles is a must!
