Adult Basketball League – Spring
At the Y, our 5 v 5 recreational basketball league is all about having fun and meeting new people!
– Register Individually
– Teammate Requests welcomed
– Ages 18+
– Games beginning at 1:00pm
– Two 20-minute halves
– Self Refereed
– Evaluation Scrimmage on first week.
Our Spring session is 11 weeks long, however only 8 weeks of gameplay due to Easter, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day all falling within our Spring Season. That being said, there will be no games on the following dates;

Barracudas Advanced Stroke Clinic
Advanced stroke clinics are ideal for swimmers previously enrolled in Barracudas Gold level practices or swimmers looking to transition from our Silver level to Gold. Over the course of 7 weeks, coaches will work with athletes on stroke technique and development for the four competitive strokes. We will focus on a different stroke each week. Swimmers will also work on competitive swimming skills such as starts and turns with some endurance-based sets as well. This level is appropriate for swimmers 11-17 years old who have experience swimming competitively and are interested in refining their strokes and conditioning before the start of our summer season. Swimmers must be able to swim 100 yards comfortably and have an understanding of all four competitive strokes. Please contact Head Coach Hailey at barracudas@annarborymca.org with any questions.

Barracudas Intermediate Stroke Clinic

Swimmers will also work on competitive swimming skills such as starts, turns, and race strategy. This level is appropriate for swimmers 6-12 years old who have PASSED youth stage 4 lessons and are interested in getting a feel for competitive swimming or refining their strokes before the start of our summer season. Fit In 40:00 – April
Get fit, fast! In just 40 minutes, this high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class combines cardio, strength, and agility exercises to give you a full-body workout in a time-efficient format. Designed for small groups, each session is led by a certified trainer who tailors exercises to various fitness levels, ensuring everyone is challenged and motivated. Expect a dynamic, supportive environment with exercises that torch calories, build muscle, and boost endurance. Whether you’re looking to push your limits or simply get a great workout, Fit in 40:00 is here to help you achieve your goals, one intense minute at a time. By signing up for this program you have access to attend any of the Fit In 40:00 timeslots. Each class can have up to 8 people in it. Please see below on how to reserve your spot for any of the time slots.
*Once registered, you will use our Ann Arbor YMCA app to reserve your spot each week. Classes will open exactly one week before the start of the next class.*

Kids’ Night Out – April 4/4 – Lil’ Fools Night Out
Kids’ Night Out is an opportunity for parents to spend quality time together while kids enjoy a variety of fun activities at the YMCA. Supervised by our very own YMCA staff, your child will enjoy a variety of activities related to the Festifools and Foolmoon festivals. Let us entertain your child while you enjoy the events!
*Dinner will be served.
*Child MUST be potty trained. We are not able to change diapers.
*If your child is attending a program ending around check-in time, between 6-6:30 pm, and may require an escort from their program to Spruce Room check-in, please email kcunningham@annarborymca for assistance.

Red Cross Lifeguard Class – April 11th-13th
Prerequisite skills needed to begin the course:
Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
– Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed)
– Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs
– Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both
Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
– Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed).
– Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
– Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface.
– Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
A swim assessment will be conducted on the first day of class to ensure all participants are able to complete the skills listed above.
Certifications you will receive in this course:
– American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR

Must be present for ALL listed dates and times.
Registration by Friday, March 28 is required, so students may complete all online e-learning prior to the start of class. Please make sure to include the email of the participant of the class. If we do not have this information, we will not be able to communicate all of the necessary information for the class.
If the e-learnings are not completed prior to the first day of class, you will not be able to participate in the course and you will not receive a refund.

Spring / Summer Outdoor – Full Season, Ferry Field / Greenhills
The Ann Arbor Track club practices on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Ferry Field from 6:30- 8:30pm. In June, the club switches to practices at Greenhills School, exact date of change is TBD.
Athletes will also have the opportunity to compete in local, regional and national meets. Experienced coaches and volunteers will work with your children in various disciplines of track.
Registration fee covers practices and meet registration fees. Singlets can be purchased separately.
